7 ways to build brand awareness outside of the Instagram.

As a brand it’s easy to get caught up putting all your energy into Instagram.

But what if Instagram disappeared tomorrow? Is all the amazing content you create shared somewhere else? Would you still be able to connect with your followers? Would they be able to contact you?

Its a good time to check-in to make sure that your current marketing mix is actually a mix and that where you’re putting your energy is really growing your brand awareness.
Here’s 7 ways to build your brand awareness outside of the ‘gram.

1. Your Website.

The one digital space that you have total control over. It's kind of like home-base and should be where you direct most of your traffic - so make sure it reflects your brand's personality.

It's a good idea to regularly update your website with new and relevant content - that's why blogs and journals are handy.

HOT TIP: Make sure your website has an 'about', 'services/products/folio' and 'contact' page. Also some great images!

2. Email Marketing

Email newsletters allow brands to reach and communicate with their community more personally. They build brand trust in a way that social media platforms cannot.

It's a good idea to start collecting email addresses before you're even ready to start your email strategy. You can easily do this by adding an email sign-up form to your website or link in bio.

3. Real-Life Connections

In other words, networking beyond a DM. Think about ways you can get out there to meet potential customers, clients or collaborators outside of social media.

It could be a hosting or attending a virtual workshop, event, trade show, exhibition or even just talking to friends of friends about your business.

4. Collaborations.

Well-matched collaborations have the power to really grow a brand. Not only can they be a cost-effective marketing tool, but they ensure exposure to an audience that already has a vested interest in what you do.

People trust recommendations. When a brand they know and follow associates themselves with another brand, the chances are they are going to trust them too.

5. Your own Podcast.

Starting a podcast is a great way to humanise your brand. Your audience gets a chance to discover who you really are.

It can also position you and your brand as an authority or leader in your industry.

Only a relatively low budget is required to execute this amazing marketing and educational tool.

6. PR.

Public Relations is often overlooked for small businesses, but its one of the best ways to build brand awareness, share your story and expertise.

It's a good idea to have a PR plan and press release at the ready.

7. Other social platforms.

There's a growing number of social media platforms out there. With new trends and features coming and going, it can be hard to keep up.

Make yourself aware of what platforms are working well in your industry and being used by your target audience.
